Shared or dedicated

For a single low bandwidth web site a shared machine is perfectly acceptable.
The only proviso to this is when particularly sensitive data is being held on the machine. In this case, the higher expense of a dedicated machine is offset against the reduction in security risk.
Security risks can only be perceived in terms of probabilities. Internet security issues may be thought of in the same way as insurance companies think of risk assessment.
