Install an anti-spyware program if you haven't got a good one already.
I recommend this free program: Spybot - Search & Destroy.

Make sure your anti-spyware is up to date.
Anti-spywares tend to not get everything so having some alternatives is always good. HijackThis is useful to analyse a healthy machine and keep the log. You can compare the log after infection with the healthy log to spot possible nasties. AdAware makes a good complement to Spybot S&D.
